Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Clinical Support Attendant to join our team at the Health Connection Clinic in North Vancouver, BC. As a Clinical Support Attendant, you will play a vital role in providing supportive services to clients with acute, chronic, and palliative care needs.
Key Responsibilities- Establish a supportive presence that promotes trauma-informed interventions and practices in a multi-use/occupant community health centre and/or clinic setting.
- Provide assistance to clients and their caregivers by liaising with clinicians and community services, and supporting the interdisciplinary team during client care planning.
- Act as a member of the on-shift response team for fire, safety, and security functions, and intervene in non-clinical emergencies and aggression.
- Diploma in Community Social Service and one year's recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Basic Security Training level 1 and 2 Certificate.
- Knowledge and experience in Trauma Informed Practice, Harm Reduction, and Recovery Oriented Care.
- Knowledge of Appreciative Inquiry.
- Broad knowledge of mental health and substance use issues and treatment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous Cultural Safety.
- Able to develop interventions and care plans that are strength-based and client-centered.
- Demonstrated expertise in workplace violence prevention, including personal safety techniques and team control techniques.
- Knowledge of community, social, and health resources.
- Ability to establish/maintain satisfactory work relationships with the public and other staff, to deal tactfully and effectively with co-workers, public, and staff from other agencies, to maintain confidentiality, and to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrates ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
- Demonstrated exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general office procedures.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
