Job Title: Part Time Day Program Instructor - Social Skills Development

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Part Time Day Program Instructor to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our program, you will play a vital role in promoting social skills development, life skills, and community participation among our program participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a role model and advocate for our participants, fostering independence and self-advocacy.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote social skills, life skills, and community participation.
  • Provide teaching and support to Enrichment Program participants, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Document and maintain accurate records, including data collection and medication administration.
  • Administer medication and provide personal care as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure seamless program delivery.

Requirements:

  • Completed 2-3 years Developmental Services Worker (DSW) Diploma or equivalent degree/diploma.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and email.
  • Valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License and a current copy of a Driver's abstract.
  • Ability to be certified in Standard First Aid/CPR and NCI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months to 1-year experience working with people with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
  • Experience with implementing and updating Individual Support Plans (ISP).
  • Medication administration experience preferred.
