Job Title: Full Time Day Program Instructor with Caseload

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Day Program Instructor to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our program, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a role model and advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their independence and self-advocacy.
  • Manage a caseload of individuals, creating support protocols and completing behavioral and mental health assessments.
  • Foster independence in daily living skills, including social skills, life skills, and community participation.
  • Provide teaching and support to Enrichment Program participants, promoting personal development and growth.
  • Document and maintain records, ensuring accurate data collection and medication administration.
  • Administer medication and provide personal care support as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
Requirements:
  • Completed 2-3 year Developmental Services Worker Diploma or equivalent degree/diploma.
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR, Level C.
  • Ability to achieve Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certificate upon hire.
  • Valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License and a current copy of a Driver's abstract.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
  • Experience with case management, prime worker roles, and Individual Support Plans (ISP).
  • Experience with community outreach, medication administration, and personal care support.
