Job Title: Director, Finance

As a key member of the Business Integration team, the Director, Finance will be responsible for leading the Corporation's accounting and financial planning functions. This includes formulating financial administration and accounting policies, procedures, and systems, as well as directing the preparation of financial statements and reports to Management and the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial administration and accounting policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Direct the preparation of financial statements and reports to Management and the Board of Directors, including quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate middle office and back-office processes and controls to ensure the effective operation of CDIC's finance function.
  • Develop, promote, and monitor compliance with corporate policies, standards, regulations, and procedures governing financial operations.
  • Work with the Director, Corporate Strategy to direct the preparation of financial forecasts and administer and coordinate annual operating plans.
  • Promote and ensure prudence and probity in the management of corporate expenditures, asset control, and liabilities.
  • Conduct cash flow forecasting, manage transaction risk, and prepare performance evaluations to identify, measure, monitor, and report financial risk exposures.
  • Review the Corporation's tax position and make recommendations to the CFO & Head, Business Integration on corporate income tax and HST matters.
  • Direct the collection of information from departments within CDIC pertaining to the achievement of their objectives and prepare comprehensive Performance Assessment Reports for management and the Board of Directors.
Requirements:
  • University Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • 7+ years managing a team of professionals in a variety of disciplines.
  • Proven ability to tease out complex issues into relatable and relevant content for broader consumption.
  • Language Requirements: BBB (Bilingualism in French & English).
