To achieve this, we are seeking a permanent, full-time Addiction Counsellor III to join our Fort McMurray Mental Health and Addiction department.

Description:

As an Addiction Counsellor III, you will provide quality, client-focused, recovery-based, and culturally appropriate assessment, treatment, case management, crisis intervention, education, and referral services for clients and their families. You will also provide community stabilization services, develop and implement treatment plans, and monitor and evaluate client progress and achievement of recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide assessment, treatment, and case management services to clients and their families
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that offer least intrusive and most appropriate services
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress and achievement of recovery goals
  • Provide community stabilization services and crisis intervention
  • Collaborate with government staff and colleagues to provide comprehensive services
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Addictions or a related field with coursework in addictions. A related degree combined with a diploma in addictions or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Individuals eligible for registration under the Health Professions Act (Alberta) must maintain active registration.
