About the Role

BMT Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our team in Marine Engineering. As a key member of our Design and Engineering Services (DES) team, you will play a critical role in managing activities and delivering projects within our market area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of experienced engineers on a long-term deployment at one of our overseas client sites.
  • Conduct engineering design and analysis, and provide consultancy services to support client taskings.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver projects within scope and budget.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and exceeding expectations.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with project statements of work and relevant quality procedures.
  • Utilize knowledge of domain-specific standards, including IMO regulations, Class Society rules, and Canadian Forces Technical Orders.
  • Provide technical assurance of design deliverables and guidance to others.
  • Lead and manage the technical team, overseeing tasks, analyzing briefs, and delivering presentations to stakeholders.
About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled Marine Engineer with a strong background in complex maritime design programs. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a marine engineering environment.
  • Eligibility for a Canadian security clearance.
  • Experience leading teams within a maritime design program.
  • Strong understanding of standards for government and commercial vessels.
  • Experience in systems integration, ship construction, and/or repair.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft 365 suite of projects.
