Safety Coordinator
**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team at DMC Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our clients and employees.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to comply with WorkSafeBC regulations and company standards.
* Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
* Collaborate with management to develop and enforce safety policies and procedures.
* Provide training and guidance to employees on safety procedures and protocols.
* Investigate and report on workplace incidents and accidents.
* Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, and training.
**Requirements:**
* Relevant education in Occupational Health & Safety, Occupational Therapy, Human Resources, Kinesiology, or another relevant field.
* CRSP/CSP designation is an asset.
* Level 2 First Aid required; Level 3 preferred.
* WHIMIS, Confined Space, and Fall Protection certifications.
* Valid driver's license with a clean record.
* 3-5+ years in occupational health and safety, preferably with WorkSafeBC experience.
**Skills and Abilities:**
* Strong communication and public speaking skills.
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
* Capable of motivating and leading others in safety practices.
* Physically able to meet job demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working at heights.
* Comfortable working near machinery in varying conditions.
