Unit Clerk, Oncology Chemo Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Unit Clerk to join our team at BC Cancer in Victoria, BC. As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Transcribe and process clinician orders, ensuring timely and accurate completion of requisitions for tests or services.
- Organize diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients, coordinating multiple appointments and communicating with patients and clinical teams.
- Gather patient information for medical appointments, facilitating efficient patient flow and preparing documents for clinical teams.
- Perform receptionist duties, including greeting and registering patients, answering phone calls, and responding to inquiries.
- Participate in onboarding and orientation of staff, demonstrating work procedures and answering related queries.
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to keyboard 40 wpm.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications.

- Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism.
