Job Description

The Manager, Product (Health & Dental Benefits) is responsible for developing and implementing sound product strategies to drive growth and differentiate Manulife as a world-class service provider in the Group Benefits industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and monitor long-term strategies for key product portfolios to achieve sustained capabilities, differentiation, and value to Group Benefits plan sponsors and members.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Distribution, Pricing, Operations, and Technology teams to build innovative go-to-market strategies and drive product growth.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for existing products and participate in the development and launch of new products and services.
  • Lead cross-functional core teams in product development initiatives, ensuring timely project implementation and issue resolution.
  • Establish and maintain a KPI reporting framework to track sales performance and utilization, ensuring targets are met and actionable insights are drawn from data.
  • Utilize market research to inform major product development decisions and drive business growth.
  • Evaluate industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions to inform product development and strategy.
Requirements:
  • 6-7 years of related experience, including go-to-market strategy, or comparable.
  • University degree or equivalent experience. MBA, GBA, and/or CEBS designation or other related business-oriented education would be an asset.
  • Experience within the health business and/or service sector is preferred.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, comfortable with quantitative and financial analysis, and high-level conceptual skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills to build effective working relationships with business unit leaders.
  • Highly developed financial competence and business orientation.
  • Ability to work across a sophisticated environment, both internally and externally, to lead teams with multiple mandates and differing value drivers.
Working Conditions:
  • Hybrid work arrangement out of Waterloo, Halifax, Montreal, or Toronto office required.
