Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement case management plans for long-term disability and life waiver claims, ensuring accurate and timely decision-making.
- Engage with members, affiliates, and stakeholders to provide professional interactions and support, including rehabilitation opportunities and follow-ups.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date information, meeting productivity, quality, and service goals.
- Provide ongoing education and support to members, affiliates, and stakeholders regarding LTD benefit processes and contractual requirements.
- Represent OTIP RAEO in examinations of discovery and work with Rehabilitation Consultants to support members in their return to work efforts.
- Collaborate with Disability Benefits Coordinators to obtain claim information and ensure benefit payments are accurate and approvals are processed in a timely manner.
- Utilize internal and external resources to progress files forward to resolution.
Requirements:
- Three to five years' experience in insurance or long-term disability claim adjudication.
- Post-secondary education in health sciences or a related field, such as nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or exercise physiology.
- CDMP (Certified Disability Management Professional) certification is an asset.
- Strong understanding of insurance principles and practices, industry standards, legal and contractual obligations, and claims investigation and assessment procedures.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, demonstrating superior oral and written communication skills, and solid organizational skills.
- The ability to communicate in French is an asset.
