Painter - Finishing Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team at IM Concrete Finishing Services Ltd. As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing, cleaning, and sanding surfaces to be painted, repairing cracks and holes, and applying paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
Key Responsibilities- Surface Preparation: Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
- Repair and Maintenance: Repair cracks and holes in surfaces, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure surfaces are in good condition.
- Painting and Finishing: Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, using a variety of techniques and tools.
As a Painter with IM Concrete Finishing Services Ltd, you will work on a variety of projects, including residential and commercial buildings. You will be required to work on the road, traveling to different job sites as needed.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees- Recruitment and Support: Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster, providing them with the opportunity to gain work experience and build their skills.
- Credential Recognition: Support newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition, helping them to obtain the necessary certifications and qualifications to work in Canada.
- Mentorship and Training: Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees, providing them with guidance and support as they adjust to their new role.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to all employees, creating a welcoming and inclusive work environment for newcomers and refugees.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, helping them to build their skills and advance in their careers.
- Cultural Competency: Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations, promoting cultural competency and awareness within the company.
- Elder Support: Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers, providing them with cultural and spiritual guidance.
- Hiring Practices: Apply hiring practices that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, ensuring a fair and inclusive hiring process.
- Mentorship and Training: Offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees, providing them with guidance and support as they adjust to their new role.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to all employees, creating a welcoming and inclusive work environment for members of visible minorities.
