Painter - Finishing Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team at IM Concrete Finishing Services Ltd. As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing, cleaning, and sanding surfaces to be painted, repairing cracks and holes, and applying paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
Key Responsibilities- Surface Preparation: Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
- Repair and Finishing: Repair cracks and holes, and apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
- Quality Control: Ensure high-quality finishes and attention to detail in all work.
This is an on-the-road job, requiring the ability to work in various locations and environments.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees- Recruitment and Support: Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who were displaced by a conflict or natural disaster, providing them with opportunities for employment and integration.
- Credential Recognition: Support newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition, helping them to obtain Canadian work experience and qualifications.
- Mentorship and Training: Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees, providing them with guidance and support in their new roles.
- Cultural Competency: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, helping them to develop their skills and advance in their careers.
- Cultural Competency: Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations, promoting cultural understanding and awareness.
- Training and Awareness: Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees, creating a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
- Elder Support: Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
- Hiring Practices: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, ensuring a fair and inclusive recruitment process.
- Mentorship and Training: Offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees, providing them with guidance and support in their new roles.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
