The Opportunity

Mawer Investment Management is seeking a skilled Receptionist to play a pivotal role in our downtown office. As the first point of contact for visitors, this individual will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • General reception duties, including answering phones, checking for faxes, and greeting employees and visitors.
  • Enter and track building maintenance requests.
  • Ensure all floor plans are up-to-date.
  • Assist with booking meeting rooms and coordinating board meetings.
  • Manage access cards for employees and visitors, including onboarding and offboarding.
  • Ensure the reception manual is up-to-date and other employees providing coverage are trained.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support various departments.

Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years of reception experience in an office environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and grammar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Proven ability to perform administrative duties with professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Proven time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Service-focused with an approachable disposition.
  • Calm and positive attitude under pressure.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and a positive attitude.
  • Team player who will step in to help wherever needed.
  • Superior respect of confidentiality and confidential matters.
  • Ability to have some flexibility with work schedule when required.
