Job Summary

The Community Mental Health Worker provides comprehensive psychosocial assessment, consultation, and evidence-informed counseling intervention and psychosocial rehabilitation to individuals referred to the mental health program for mental health-related problems. This position serves as a welcoming point of entry for clients and referral sources, promoting therapeutic relationships through the service engagement process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychosocial assessment, consultation, and counseling intervention to individuals with mental health-related problems
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and referral sources
  • Provide psychosocial rehabilitation services to support clients in achieving their recovery goals
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional development to maintain competency and expertise
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited post-secondary education in Health-Related Social Sciences (e.g., BSW, BScMH, BScPN, BN, RPN)
  • Active license and registration to practice as required by professional association and provincial legislation
  • Certificate in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST)
  • Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of mental health service
  • Advanced mental health psychosocial assessment skills and knowledge of appropriate evidence-informed therapeutic counseling models, approaches, and interventions
