Job Summary:

The Community Mental Health Specialist provides comprehensive psychosocial support and counseling services to individuals with mental health-related problems. This role involves conducting thorough assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and providing evidence-based interventions to promote recovery and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions, focusing on evidence-based interventions and recovery-oriented practices
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and coordination
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and services to support client needs
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to maintain expertise and stay current with best practices

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, psychology, counseling)
  • Active licensure and registration to practice as required by professional association and provincial legislation
  • Experience in providing mental health services, preferably in a community-based setting
  • Strong assessment and treatment planning skills, with ability to work with diverse populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and healthcare teams

Working Conditions:
