**Job Summary**: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Omi. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect support to a disabled young boy.

Description of Position

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to provide support with daily activities, personal care, and meal preparation. You will also be responsible for ensuring the client's space is well maintained and clean, supporting them in identifying and achieving their personal goals and dreams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to a disabled young boy, including assistance with daily activities, personal care, and meal preparation.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for the client.
  • Support the client in identifying and working towards their personal goals and dreams.
  • Encourage self-expression and utilize knowledge of verbal and non-verbal communications.

Qualifications

  • Completed or actively pursuing a Developmental Services Worker Diploma (preferred), or Nursing Certifications such as RNs, NPs, RPN, or Social Services Worker Diploma, Child and Youth Worker Diploma with some experience working or volunteering with people who have disability.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License (Class G or G2), access to a reliable vehicle and car insurance.
  • Good problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written).

Additional Information

This is a part-time opportunity with a set schedule but requires some flexibility. The successful candidate will work 12 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with morning shifts.
