Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Government and Regulatory Affairs to join our team at Questrade Financial Group. As a key member of our government relations team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to advance our company's interests with government stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze parliamentary and political developments, legislative and policy changes, and regulatory updates at the federal and provincial levels.
  • Develop data and research products to support advocacy efforts and internal decision-making.
  • Support the immediate supervisor with work organization and operational planning.
  • Organize meetings with key stakeholders and decision-makers to determine key issues and how our company can contribute to the regulatory and policy development process.
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with staff across the company to problem-solve and develop common approaches for promoting awareness and understanding of our company's priorities and initiatives within the different orders of government and with key stakeholders.
  • Project manage advocacy campaigns, events, and external activities.
  • Support the delivery of public affairs strategies to promote our company with public sector audiences, including media relations, digital content development, thought leadership/speaking opportunities, and social media.
  • Develop and maintain strong positive relationships with elected officials and their staff on the provincial and federal levels.
  • Continuously improve the management of processes under your responsibility.
  • Devising and implementing communications strategies to proactively influence, educate, and inform government and stakeholder audiences.
  • Establish and maintain positive media relationships with a focus on national and Ontario-based media.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to monitor our company's media share of voice and sentiment in relation to our GR engagement strategy; monitor and create social media content.
  • Help discover and assess partnership ideas and opportunities that align with Government Affairs priorities and overall enterprise objectives.
  • Maintain and ensure good governance and reporting regarding all engagements with government officials.
  • Supporting the management of crisis/reputational issues and response when needed both internally and externally to various stakeholders and work with the corporate communications team to build and protect corporate reputation.
  • Tell the corporate story and influence government and stakeholder audiences through the identification and delivery of executive and employee thought leadership and communications opportunities.
  • Evaluate and manage organizational responses to inquiries from elected and non-elected decision-makers.
