Clinical Leadership Role for Quality Patient Care

A career opportunity has emerged at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital (TDMH) for an Integrated Manager, Clinical Services. This integrated position involves working between the Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll and TDMH, requiring adaptability and a commitment to providing quality patient care.
This leadership role reports to the Director of Clinical Services and is responsible for managing all nursing functions and personnel within the assigned areas of responsibility. The successful candidate will be accountable for coordinating the delivery of quality patient care, ensuring safe, ethical, legal, and professional nursing practices.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure the coordination and delivery of quality patient care while adhering to established standards and guidelines
- Plan, develop, and implement suitable staffing complements and rotations to meet the needs of both hospital sites
- Investigate incidents, recommend follow-up actions, counsel team members, and manage conflict to maintain optimal quality patient care
- Manage performance expectations and conduct performance reviews for team members to ensure their growth and development
- Identify learning needs and develop education plans to foster professionalism and continuing education among team members
- Collaborate with Employee Health and Wellness to address employee issues, monitor attendance patterns, and work towards regular attendance
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of collective agreements and labor relations resources
- Monitor and control utilization, spending, and budget allocations to ensure adequate resources to fulfill identified needs
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for care delivery and equipment/supply utilization; identify quality concerns and work to address them for optimal patient outcomes
- Investigate and monitor incident reports, including medication, patient, visitor, employee, and unusual occurrences, and direct corrective actions where concerns are identified
- Perform duties in a manner that exemplifies and facilitates quality and patient safety
Required Qualifications:
- A current Certificate of Competence from the relevant College as a Registered Healthcare provider
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or an acceptable equivalent in a healthcare-related profession is preferred
- At least five years of progressive experience demonstrating leadership skills, theoretical knowledge, and clinical expertise
- Demonstrated behaviors supporting the Core Values of Respectful, Compassionate, Adaptable, and Encouraging
- Active membership in professional organizations
- The ability to promote effective relationships within Patient Services and other hospital services, health disciplines, healthcare facilities, and community services
- Demonstrated innovation and a leader's mindset
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Cerner
- Prior experience with quality improvement initiatives
- Recognition of Emotional Intelligence (EI), particularly emotional self-awareness, assertiveness, optimism, stress tolerance, and empathy in various situations
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- The ability to navigate and resolve conflicts as they arise, as well as knowledge of escalation protocols
- Maintenance of patient privacy and confidentiality
- A service-oriented attitude and commitment to patient-centered care
- The ability to develop positive working relationships within a team to contribute to a positive work environment
- Results-oriented with excellent financial and quality management, project management, risk management, and operational planning skills
- Formal LEAN and/or Six Sigma Training experience
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Collaboration with other team members
Conditions of Employment:
- Availability to work all shifts as required, including weekends, statutory holidays, days, evenings, and night shifts
- Participation in on-call rotations
- The integrated nature of this role requires flexibility to work at both TDMH and AHI
- A salary range of $57.61 to $67.38 per hour, based on the Non-Union Salary Schedule
