About the Role:

The Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist will be a key member of our Proficiency Testing team at Accreditation Canada. This role involves planning, designing, and coordinating proficiency testing models to ensure the highest standards of quality in medical laboratories.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Align PT activities with the ISO/IEC 17043 standard, collaborating with Scientific Committees to develop and validate survey materials.
  • Utilize software tools to analyze data, develop reports, and facilitate PT meetings.
  • Monitor and manage electronic documentation of participating laboratories' performance.
  • Collaborate with Scientific Committees to guide laboratory practices through publications and communications.
  • Provide direction and support to internal and external clients.
  • Assist in the delivery of additional PT programs in different disciplines.
Requirements:
  • General Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) obtained from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program.
  • Successful completion of the MLT certification exam provided by the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science.
  • A member in good standing with CMLTO.
  • At least 10 years recent experience as a general medical laboratory technologist with significant chemistry, hematology, and point of care testing experience.
  • Strong innovation skills to facilitate new product development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and meeting facilitation skills.
