About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Teranorth Construction & Engineering Limited. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction of residential and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed layouts and measurements for building projects, using precision tools and equipment.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel.
  • Develop and submit tenders and quotations for construction projects.
  • Build and install foundations, floor beams, subflooring, walls, and roof systems.
  • Install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, ensuring precise fit and finish.
  • Coordinate and schedule work on construction sites, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Conduct site surveys and level checks to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Train and supervise apprentices, promoting a culture of excellence and safety.
  • Estimate costs and materials for construction projects, ensuring budgetary compliance.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial buildings, including wooden structures in various settings.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty environments.
  • Perform tasks that require bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a large workload.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, safety protocols, and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require manual labor and heavy lifting.
