About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inventory Manager to lead our warehouse and delivery teams. As an Inventory Manager, you will be responsible for managing and implementing inventory control procedures, ensuring accurate inventory transactions and quantities on hand. You will also oversee physical inventory and reconciliation processes, collaborate with the Purchasing Team to ensure optimum inventory levels, and handle escalations and work with the management team to reconcile variances.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and implement inventory control procedures to maintain accuracy of inventory transactions and quantities on hand.
  • Oversee physical inventory and reconciliation processes.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing Team to ensure optimum inventory levels.
  • Handle escalations and work with management team to reconcile variances.
  • Record quality, quantity, type, style, and other characteristics of goods in inventory to provide accurate representation of what we have and what we need.
  • Identify and track inventory flow to identify slow-moving and dead stock.
Warehouse Optimization:
  • Analyze, plan, and execute plant layout to ensure efficient space utilization.
  • Monitor and optimize warehouse layout, storage systems, and material handling equipment to maximize space utilization and operational efficiency.
  • Manage storage of all inventory, ensuring it is conducted in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Ensure materials and finished product are stored and transported safely.
  • Ensure safe operation of forklifts and transport vehicles, and ensure all vehicle paperwork is completed efficiently.
  • Ensure department and surrounding areas are always safe and secure, and maintain proper housekeeping.
  • Adhere to use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safety guarding, and general safe working practices.
Team Leadership and Supervision:
  • Manage and improve operational practices for warehouse and delivery teams to modernize processes and optimize operational efficiencies.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to team and coordinate day-to-day activities.
  • Commit to leadership and development of team members while fostering a positive, collaborative work culture.
  • Promote and communicate lean management techniques.
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators in relation to department goals.
  • Set departmental goals for team and ensure activities are carried out in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent related to Materials Management.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment as a Materials Leader.
  • Must have an understanding of lean manufacturing practices and principles and be able to affect change in an operations environment.
  • Possesses a strategic mindset and able to develop process improvements and projects to increase efficiency, safety, and overall operations of inventory.
  • Experience managing and leading a team.
  • Demonstrated project management skills; well organized, attentive to details.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think and respond quickly.
  • Proven track record of personal responsibility and accountability.
  • Ability to execute and prioritize tasks, commitment to tasks.
  • Clearly exchanges thoughts, ideas, and messages through written, verbal, and non-verbal methods that promote understanding to the team.
