Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing care on an acute medical/surgical unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their healthcare needs
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including administering medications, wound care, and other treatments
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure optimal care outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
  • Meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, and lifting

Requirements

  • Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Heart & Stroke Approved BLS Provider Card upon hire
  • Recent general medicine and/or surgical experience preferred
  • Strong assessment skills, reliable, flexible, self-directed professional
  • Sound patient care nursing skills combined with effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
