As a Part-Time School Van Driver with First Student Shared Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of students to and from school. With over a century of experience, we are the largest school transportation provider in North America, serving 1,250 school districts across 39 states and 8 Canadian provinces.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely transporting customers to and from their destinations on time
  • Performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure optimal vehicle safety
  • Ensuring passenger safety while boarding and exiting buses and crossing streets
  • Having or being able to obtain a Class 4 License, with reimbursement for any costs associated

Requirements:

  • Meet the company standard minimum age of 21 years
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable populations is preferred
  • The ability to navigate through the service area using maps or on-board directional equipment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • At least 3 years of driving experience, with at least 1 year in North America
  • A valid (non-probationary) driver's license and a good driving record
  • Pass a Ministry prescribed Medical examination, criminal record search, vulnerable sector clearance, and other background checks
