Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Innovation Director to join our team in Montreal. As a senior IT leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing technology strategies that align with the firm's business objectives.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Technology Strategy Roadmap: Create and execute a technology strategy that fills technology gaps and enhances our competitive edge. This includes data analytics, business intelligence, development support, infrastructure, security, and technical services.
  2. Oversee IT Operations and Business Applications: Ensure the efficient, secure, and profitable use of technology across the firm. Supervise system infrastructure to guarantee functionality and efficiency.
  3. Innovate and Integrate New Tools and Technologies: Identify, evaluate, and implement new tools and technologies that provide a competitive advantage and improve service delivery.
  4. Data Protection and Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain robust data protection and quality assurance processes. Ensure infrastructure and applications meet security and compliance guidelines and align with disaster recovery guidelines.
  5. Budget Management: Manage and monitor IT budgets, ensure cost-effective technology investments, and work to reduce costs in all areas (tool consolidation, inactive user removal, etc).
  6. Vendor Management: Review, recommend, and oversee all IT vendors and manage service agreements for computing, telecommunications, IT services, software, and equipment.
  7. Change Management: Anticipate and lead change, experiment with new technologies, and create a culture that encourages innovation and adaptation to technological shifts.
  8. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate technology strategy and progress to partners and other stakeholders.
  9. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, transparency, and accountability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional experience in the IT field and at least five years in a senior IT leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field; MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus.
  • Experience in an accounting firm preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of technological trends and the ability to align technology with business strategy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse leaders, communicate an IT vision and strategy across all levels of the organization, and build consensus around key initiatives and projects.
  • Strong program and project management skills with a proven ability to define strategy and lead an organization from vision to implementation.
  • Knowledge of business processes, including disaster recovery, information security, networking, business continuity, and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of budgets and business planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
