Technical Animation Director

At Hasbro, we're passionate about creating immersive gaming experiences that bring joy to players worldwide. As a Technical Animation Director, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the animation vision for our next AAA multiplayer game in the universe of D&D, built using the Unreal Engine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with game leadership to develop the overall animation strategy and ensure technical feasibility.
  • Design and maintain detailed documentation for all owned animation features, ensuring seamless implementation.
  • Evaluate the game's animation vision, design, and technical needs, identifying risks and mitigation plans.
  • Work closely with programmers to assess existing animation tools and design custom ones to improve pipelines.
  • Support animators, game designers, and riggers with technical needs, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Train team members on tools and techniques, promoting best practices and awareness of new processes.
  • Resolve complex escalated issues and validate technical solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends and technological advancements, defining best practices for animation development.
  • Monitor performance metrics related to animation and optimize pipelines for efficiency.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience developing AAA titles.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Animation Technical Director on AAA titles.
  • Strong knowledge of MotionBuilder, Maya, and Unreal Engine.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Positive and collaborative communication style.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for learning.
  • Ability to manage features from start to finish and lead a team.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French.
