Job Summary:

The Captain is a senior management position responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the vessel and protecting the company's commercial interests. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of maritime regulations, and the ability to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the safe operation of the vessel, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and implement effective safety management systems to minimize risk and prevent accidents.
  • Lead a team of crew members, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Make informed decisions regarding vessel operations, taking into account factors such as safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Master Mariner (preferred) or Master, Near Coastal certification.
  • General Operator's License (GOC).
  • GLPA certificate (preferred).
  • Ship Security Officer (preferred).
  • Medical training in STCW Basic Safety, survival craft and rescue boats, and advanced fire fighting.
  • Marine Medical certification.
  • Personnel with Security Duties.
  • Minimum 2 years recent experience working on dry-bulk vessels.
  • Experience with Safety Management Systems.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge of English language.
