Job Title: Captain

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Captain to join our team at Algoma Central Corporation. As a Captain, you will be responsible for the safe operation of our dry-bulk vessels and ensuring the well-being of our crew.

Responsibilities:

* Ensure the safe navigation and operation of the vessel
* Manage and supervise the crew to ensure their safety and well-being
* Maintain accurate records and reports of vessel operations and crew performance
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless vessel operations
* Develop and implement safety management systems to prevent accidents and incidents

Requirements:

* Master Mariner (preferred) or Master, Near Coastal
* General Operator's License (GOC)
* GLPA certificate (preferred)
* Ship Security Officer (preferred)
* MED training with respect to STCW Basic Safety
* MED training with respect to proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats
* MED in advanced fire fighting
* Marine Medical
* Personnel with Security Duties
* Minimum 2 years recent experience working on dry-bulk vessels
* Experience with Safety Management Systems
* Excellent leadership skills
* Knowledge of English language is required
