About the Role

Northern Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and self-directed Administrative Assistant to support the Regional Home & Community Care department. This role will provide administrative support to the Regional Hospice Palliative Care (HPC) Leader and HPC Consultation Team members from a central hub.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate common clerical and business practices to support the local and remote interdisciplinary Team
  • Establish office practices to support the Leader and HPC Consultation Team members
  • Coordinate the organization, preparation, and distribution of teaching resources
  • Track and electronically file resources
  • Publish the HPC Newsletter
  • Maintain the iPortal sites
  • Provide data administration and reporting

Qualifications
  • Grade 12
  • Recognized Office Careers Program Certificate
  • Recent, related experience of three (3) years
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to operate related equipment and software programs (Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Publishing, Excel, Power Point, Visio, graphics, etc)
  • Ability to type 60 words per minute
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively and develop strong collaborative working relationships
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
