At Parsons Corporation, we are seeking an experienced Northern Remediation Project Specialist to join our team in Yellowknife, NT. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a world-class remediation project using innovative methods to deliver a safe environment.
As a Northern Remediation Project Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the construction and remediation activities at Giant Mine. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting the works of contractors by monitoring their performance to meet specification and contract requirements.
- Supporting and ensuring Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards are followed at site by subcontractors in accordance with EHS program. Performing safety audits/inspections.
- Oversseeing and performing site inspections and enforcement of standards
- Oversseeing Quality Control/Quality Assurance of work being performed by contractors. Ensuring quality control plans are followed and witnessing, verifying, approving as per the Inspection Test Plans (ITP). Coordinating the testing requirements with the contractor and third-party independent testing agents.
- Supporting Project Managers and Engineers in the delivery of the construction scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality of work packages delivered by sub-contractors.
- Monitoring, verifying and generating daily reports on the progress and performance of subcontractor activities.
- Reviewing contractor daily reports and verifying.
- Reviewing daily and weekly plans, performing site inspections to monitor and assure adherence to plans.
- Assisting Project Managers and Engineers with quality control assessments and the quality reports.
- Supporting the Project Managers and Engineers with resolving issues when variance in cost, schedule or quality arise by working with the contractors to develop and implement corrective actions.

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in a related field, with significant experience in lieu of diploma or degree considered. You must also have the ability to understand design specifications, quality plans and performing quality assurance functions. Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to monitor and maintain contractor adherence to specifications and standards are essential. You should also be able to operate self-sufficently in field environments and have proven ability to prepare reports and documentation. A valid Canadian driver's license and willingness to live in Yellowknife, NWT are also required.
