Gerrie Electric, a leading electrical distributor, is seeking a skilled Training Specialist to oversee employee training and development across all branches. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our employees have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement training programs to meet employee needs and company objectives
  • Collaborate with directors, branch managers, and executive team to identify training requirements
  • Prepare and deliver training sessions in various formats, including in-person, virtual, and online
  • Maintain a comprehensive training library and ensure all staff have access to materials and resources
  • Stay up-to-date with health and safety standards and ministry requirements, and collaborate with the Director of HR as needed
  • Coordinate and schedule health and safety training, forklift theory and practical evaluation, and first aid training
  • Log all training, upload certificates, and maintain records to ensure continuity
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and prepare training materials as needed
  • Own the logging, records, and controls of all training and assessments
  • Determine training needs based on employee inquiries, IT department, or ISO coordinator feedback
  • Conduct assessments to ensure employee competence and adjust training accordingly
  • Provide continuous improvement training and facilitation using available project tools
  • Collaborate with the Director of HR to identify career paths based on competencies and develop training to fill gaps
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in an HR training-related field
  • 3+ years of experience working with adult learners
  • Excellent knowledge of adult learning theories, learning designs, and delivery
  • Experience in industrial settings is an asset
