Job Summary

LifeLabs is seeking a skilled and compassionate Lab Patient Technician to join our team in Owen Sound, ON. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and interact with patients, explaining the specimen collection process and ensuring they follow necessary test protocols.
  • Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect Holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
  • Collect and process specimens for testing, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, responding to inquiries and following up on requests.
  • Enter patient data and requisition information into our system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy experience and excellent communication skills.
  • Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to strict standards of patient privacy.
