Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Classroom Supervisor to join our team at the Waterloo Catholic District School Board. As a Classroom Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, secure, and engaging learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise elementary and/or secondary students in the classroom and other indoor and outdoor spaces.
  • Follow instructions left by classroom teachers and/or the Principal/Vice-Principal.
  • Manage minor student discipline issues and escalate more serious matters to the Principal/Vice-Principal.
  • Promote positive attitudes towards and encourage enthusiasm for learning.
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, patience, and flexibility.
  • Cooperate with school staff regarding safety protocols, emergency plans, and school procedures.
  • Be aware of specific students' medical/behavior situations and keep such information strictly confidential.
Requirements
  • Able to provide a Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate.
  • Individuals from a Faculty of Education Program and graduating in 2024 and currently processing/or awaiting their Ontario College of Teacher (OCT) Transitional Certificate.
  • Internationally trained educators who are working through the OCT Accreditation process.
  • Individuals with experience working with and supervising children (ages 3-18) or who have Successfully completed Grade 12 education, or its equivalent is required.
  • Individual with Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Individuals with the ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with students, parents, and staff.
  • Individuals who possess an understanding of and a willingness to support the mission of a Catholic School system.
