Job Title: Director, GB - IT Strategy & Planning

The Director, GB - IT Strategy & Planning will lead a team to develop, drive, and support technology strategies that enable Manulife's Group Benefits to deliver innovative digital experiences to our Group Benefits customers and drive efficiencies and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of technology strategies that align with Group Benefits business goals.
  • Collaborate with Group Benefits Product Partners and Directors of Engineering to act as a key senior technology partner to develop and implement the right technology solutions to drive the business.
  • Align technology strategy, plans, and implementation of solutions with Group Benefits business goals.
  • Identify and exploit internal best practices to improve technology capabilities.
  • Provide leadership and direction in developing a team of highly engaged, geographically diverse, Technology professionals.
  • Coordinate all aspects of technology for the Group Benefits unit, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Partner closely with key risk customers to coordinate work effort to ensure solutions meet industry risk practices.
  • Establish operating and investment budgets within the respective work area consistent with short and long-term Group Benefits financial goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, management of information systems, or equivalent.
  • Exceptional communications judgement and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels with both technical and non-technical customers.
  • Confident presentation and facilitation skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate working with management.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to deliver actionable recommendations based on analysis.
