Job Summary

We are seeking a Business Development Associate to join our M&A deal origination team in North America. The successful candidate will source, qualify, nurture, and manage a pipeline of acquisition opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate leads through cold calling, emailing, social media, and trade shows
  • Collaborate with Datamine and Vela Software business leaders to identify strategic and complementary acquisition targets
  • Build relationships with CEOs and owner-operators of private companies
  • Establish a network of M&A intermediaries and Private Equity/Venture Capital firms to source deals collaboratively
Requirements
  • Proven background in sales, with experience in corporate development, brokerage, or SaaS sales
  • Relationship management experience, with the ability to gain trust, build rapport, and influence decision-makers
  • Impactful, professional, and persuasive verbal and written communication skills
  • Drive, with a data-driven approach and a focus on outcomes
  • Flexibility, with the ability to travel on an as-needed basis

Interview Process

We will conduct a series of interviews, including a virtual interview with the Hiring Manager and a final interview with the Hiring Manager and a member of the business. You will be asked to prepare and present a case study to demonstrate your business development approach and expertise.
