Job Opportunity: Senior Patent Attorney

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Patent Attorney to join our team at Ignite Talent Solutions. As a key member of our Intellectual Property Practice Group, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our clients' intellectual property portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and prosecute Canadian patent and industrial design applications with a focus on mechanical and electrical fields.
  • Communicate with clients and CIPO on matters including preparing, filing, and prosecution of patent and industrial design applications.
  • Oversee maintenance of issued patents, including monitoring deadlines and overseeing payment of maintenance fees.
  • Provide patent infringement and validity opinions.
  • Manage deadlines and client requests.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in patent law.
  • A law degree and registration as a Canadian Patent Agent.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and file management skills.
  • A team player with the ability to work independently or under the direction of senior lawyers.
  • Superior work ethic, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional research, practice management, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Client service abilities.
