About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Patent Lawyer to join our team at Ignite Talent Solutions. As a Senior Patent Lawyer, you will play a key role in our Intellectual Property Practice Group, working closely with our clients to provide expert advice and guidance on patent and industrial design applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and prosecute Canadian patent and industrial design applications with a focus on mechanical and electrical fields.
  • Communicate with clients and CIPO on matters including preparing, filing and prosecution of patent and industrial design applications.
  • Oversee maintenance of issued patents, including monitoring deadlines and overseeing payment of maintenance fees.
  • Provide patent infringement and validity opinions.
  • Manage deadlines and client requests.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in patent law.
  • A law degree and registration as a Canadian Patent Agent.
  • Strong analytical, drafting and file management skills.
  • A team player with the ability to work independently or under the direction of senior lawyers.
  • Exceptional research, practice management, negotiation and advocacy skills and client service abilities.
