Parts and Components Validation Mechanical Engineer

Alstom is a leading company in the mobility sector, and we are seeking a skilled Parts and Components Validation Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, verifying, and validating parts solutions for our rail industry clients.
Responsibilities:- Apply your knowledge to design, verify, and validate parts solutions that meet customer specifications in form, fit, and function, railway safety, reliability, industrial norms, and standards.
- Be thoroughly familiar with project specifications and requirements relating to electrical design tasks associated with parts requested.
- Prepare electrical and interface schematics, drawings, and documentation of assigned systems and meet deliverable schedules.
- Coordinate and lead efforts with vendors to confirm compliance with customer requirements.
- Maintain your knowledge of rail and electrical-electronic norms and standards such as FRA, AAR, IEEE, ANSI, etc.
- Provide electrical drawings, bills of material, detailed work scope, assembly, and testing instructions for parts, equipment, and printed circuit boards as needed.
- Provide instructions to drafters and designers for the development and preparation of schematics, layouts, assembly, and detail drawings.
- Provide engineering support during the production of the part, specify and select electrical or electronic components to be applied in the parts.
- Provide customer technical support as needed.
- Operate in the MMR process.
- More than 5 years of experience in rail industry standards and design or with similar industry products such as transportation vehicles, and/or high-low voltage equipment, and discrete electronic components.
- More than 5 years of experience in the invalidation process and different contracts.
- Candidate must be very autonomous, with hands-on experience, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment in unclear and ill-defined environments, and resourceful in finding information.
- Knowledge of rolling stock systems and components.
- Knowledge of safety management systems and safety risk assessment.
- Proficient in the use of electrical/electronics design tools, MS Office, SAP, GSI, and Maximo (other ERP tools).
- Knowledge of Alstom Design for Quality processes.
