Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Regulated Energy Specialist to join our team in Halifax, NS. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in various aspects of power generation, transmission, distribution, and customer service responsibilities.

This role requires the ability to analyze complex technical and operational issues, identify potential risks, and provide insight into emerging trends within the electric utility sector. The ideal candidate will be able to convey complex concepts clearly and simply, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing comprehensive economic and technical evaluations of individual capital expenditure requests.
  • Making recommendations to Board members regarding the necessity and reasonableness of proposed capital expenditures.
  • Assisting with oversight of the Independent Energy System Operator (IESO) function, wholesale market rules, and related electricity market activities.
