At VenorTalent, we're seeking a seasoned Senior Advisor, Electric to join our team in Halifax. As a trusted leader in the field of electric utility regulation, you'll provide expert advice and recommendations to regulatory bodies on complex matters.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in power generation, transmission, distribution, and customer service responsibilities. Your expertise should include smart grid modernization, renewable energy resources, demand-side management, and system control center operations.

In this role, you'll analyze filings for regulatory issues, create comprehensive economic and technical evaluations of capital expenditure requests, and assess justification, prudency, and impact on ratepayers. You'll also participate in formal public hearings by engaging expert witnesses, identifying issues for cross-examination, and assisting with decision writing.

We're looking for someone who can convey complex concepts clearly and simply, with highly developed analytical and problem resolution skills. You should be able to provide collaborative consultation on key business and technical issues, respond to customer complaints, and meet strict deadlines while maintaining confidentiality.
