Job Summary

The Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK) is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Communications Lead to join its team. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communications strategies to support ITK's goals and objectives.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years or more of experience working with an Inuit or Indigenous organization, as well as strong writing and content creation skills. They will also have excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

This role requires a high level of adaptability and flexibility, as well as the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. The successful candidate will be based in Ottawa, ON.

 Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive communications plans to support ITK's strategic priorities
Create engaging content for various audiences, including social media, website, and publications
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including ITK staff, government officials, and media representatives
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communications channels
Monitor and analyze metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communications efforts

 Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate communications, preferably in an Indigenous affairs context
Excellent writing, editing, and content creation skills
Strong understanding of social media platforms and their applications in communications
Proven track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
