Project Overview:
We are currently recruiting for skilled Carpenters to join the team at the Vancouver General Hospital project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehend blueprint readings and prepare layouts
- Understand industrial concrete forming, build concrete forms, and other structures
- Complete rough and finishing carpentry tasks, utilizing appropriate math skills
- Verify completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and the right size, shape, and location
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Organize and maintain site cleanliness according to site HSE standards
Requirements:
- Preference given to Journeyperson Carpenter Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority or be a Registered Carpenter Apprentice
- Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
- Experience with concrete formwork required
- Fall Protection and Confined Space is an asset
- Light equipment operating experience an asset
- Certifications needed, CSTS & WHMIS
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
