Job Title: Long Haul Transport Driver

AGKS Transport Inc. is seeking a reliable and skilled Long Haul Transport Driver to join our team. As a Long Haul Transport Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
  • Operate and Drive Trucks: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Emergency Roadside Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs as needed to ensure the safe operation of the vehicle.
  • Pre-Trip, En Route, and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent mechanical issues and ensure the vehicle is running efficiently.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo by tarping and securing it properly.
Requirements:
  • AZ Class License: Possess a valid AZ class license.
  • Driver Logbook: Maintain a driver logbook to record hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Inspection Reports: Conduct and maintain inspection reports for pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
  • Maintenance and Repair Reports: Maintain records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Trip Reports: Record trip information, including cargo details and any issues encountered.
  • Communication Systems Experience: Operate GPS and other navigation equipment, as well as a trip recorder (on-board computer).
  • Transportation/Travel Experience: Possess experience with long-haul and provincial/territorial transportation.
  • Security and Safety: Undergo a criminal record check, driver's validity license check, driving record check (abstract), drug test, and medical exam.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Possess a valid driver's license, be willing to travel cross-border, and willing to travel overnight.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Possess attention to detail, be able to sit for extended periods, and handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Own Tools/Equipment: Possess a cellular phone, steel-toed safety boots, safety vest, and gloves.
  • Personal Suitability: Possess efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, judgment, organization, reliability, team player, hardworking, and patience.
