The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Recreation Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing quality leisure programs, services, and facilities to our military members and their families. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing programs that cater to the diverse needs of our community, including preschoolers, adults, and seniors.

You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supervising and coordinating the delivery of community fitness, sports, arts, and culture programming. Your expertise will be essential in mentoring junior staff and volunteers, ensuring the highest level of service delivery and quality of life for our military members and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement recreation programs for diverse age groups
  • Supervise and coordinate the delivery of community fitness, sports, arts, and culture programming
  • Mentor junior staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify community needs and develop programs that meet those needs
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure efficient program delivery
Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Certification in one recreation program area
  • Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
  • High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development or High Five Sport (successful completion by end of probation)
  • High Five QUEST 2 (successful completion by end of probation)
  • High Five Healthy Minds for Healthy Children (successful completion by end of probation)
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and evaluating recreation programs
  • Experience in program development and instruction
  • Experience in supervising personnel and volunteers
  • Experience in budget administration
Language Requirements

English is the primary language of communication, with bilingualism (English and French) being an asset.
