Measurement Technician, Fabrication Specialist

About the Role:
Aecon Nuclear is seeking a skilled Measurement Technician, Fabrication to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project. As part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to provide high precision measurements of dimensional features and associated reporting for the off-site fabrication of steel components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review fabrication drawings and specifications to understand dimensional features and tolerances for planned fabrications.
- Operate and maintain laser tracker systems utilized in the feature measurement of fabricated components.
- Measure components for conformance to dimensional tolerances utilizing laser tracker, probes, gauges and other required tooling or measurement devices.
- Generate and distribute timely reports on the status of component's geometry dimensions and conformance.
- Ensure adherence to project data management and reporting procedures for all assigned work.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fabrication, machining or a mechanical technology role.
- Capable of reading and understanding fabrication drawings and specifications.
- Experience utilizing inspection tools or laser trackers is an asset.
- Strong computer skills with experience in use of AutoCAD, Inventor or other 3D modeling software.
