Precision Measurement Specialist

Job Opportunity:
Aecon is seeking a skilled Precision Measurement Specialist to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project.
About the Role:
- Review fabrication drawings and specifications to understand dimensional features and tolerances.
- Operate and maintain laser tracker systems for feature measurement of fabricated components.
- Measure components for conformance to dimensional tolerances using laser tracker, probes, gauges, and other required tooling or measurement devices.
- Generate and distribute timely reports on the status of component geometry dimensions and conformance.
- Attend shift planning meetings to understand fabrication throughput plans and reporting requirements.
- Ensure adherence to project data management and reporting procedures.
- Perform shop walks to check fabrication progress and anticipate upcoming measurement activities.
- Participate in Job Hazard assessments and shop safety inspections.
- Participate in company-wide initiatives aimed at overall continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fabrication, machining, or mechanical technology role.
- Capable of reading and understanding fabrication drawings and specifications.
- Experience utilizing inspection tools or laser trackers is an asset.
- Strong computer skills with experience in use of AutoCAD, Inventor, or other 3D modeling software.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications and basic computing and network configurations.
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds and climb ladders, if required.
- Must be able to perform effectively in an environment with elevated noise levels, while strictly adhering to all relevant safety standards and protocols.
- Must understand how to support a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.
- Must have a full appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry.
