Quality Assurance Co-op Student

Job Summary

The successful co-op student will be responsible for verifying and measuring incoming parts that are flagged for inspection to ensure company standards are met and specifications are matched against engineering drawings. The co-op student will also be working with the team members on calibrating shop equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete a 4-month co-op work term
  • Approval of finished products for shipment involving visual verification, mechanical inspection, and electrical testing
  • Calibration of mechanical and electrical instrument measuring equipment
  • Participate in troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Read and interpret part and assembly drawings
  • Collaborate with assemblers and production personnel on quality inspections
  • Record and maintain inspection and calibration records
  • Collect and summarize quality reports monthly

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree/diploma in Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineering or Quality Assurance
  • A team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Keen interest in design and manufacturing
  • Some manufacturing experience is an asset
