Job Summary

The University of Waterloo is seeking a skilled Plumber to join our facilities team. As a Plumber, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining hot and cold water systems, HVAC systems, and other mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and repair hot and cold water systems, steam systems, condensate systems, and related equipment and controls.
  • Maintain and repair the entire drain and sewage systems and fire hydrants.
  • Perform assigned work within assigned facilities, including but not limited to:
  • Installs, maintains or repairs hot water tanks, steam coils, chilled water coils and lines, valves, water temperature and pressure regulators, and back flow preventors.
  • Provides trade and job instruction as well as work direction to other classifications.
Requirements
  • Minimum of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
  • Valid Provincial Trade Certification as a Plumber.
  • Valid Cross Connection / Backflow Device testing license.
  • Minimum five (5) years recent experience as a certified plumber.
  • Experience testing backflow devices.
  • Work experience within major institutional sector(s), such as education, post-secondary education, medical/hospital or related construction industry, may be preferred.
