Position Summary:

The HR Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the Human Resource function, including recruitment, payroll, training & development, employee relations, performance management, benefits, compliance with labour laws, maintaining agency contracts, JHSC (Health & Safety), and more.

This role involves developing and executing HR strategies, identifying areas of improvement for the department and organization to work towards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provide support and guidance to HR team, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and problems arise.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits, researching and proposing competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives within the HR department.
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Responsible for Health & Safety for all workers.
  • Nurture a positive working environment.
  • Operational and Administrative support as needed.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Master's or any equivalent degree in Human Resource Management.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR Generalist experience; manufacturing experience will be preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Negotiation and resolution skills.
