At Sonoma Carpentry Ltd, we are seeking an experienced Framing Carpenter to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems.

About the Role

This is a physically demanding role that requires working at heights, handling heavy loads, and being able to work with minimal supervision. You will need to have a strong understanding of building codes and be able to measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
Credentials

We require candidates to have personal protective equipment (PPE) training, working at heights training, Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, and Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.

Experience and Specialization

Applicants must have 5 years or more experience in framing carpentry, preferably in residential construction projects.

Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary, as per collective agreement ($70,000 - $90,000 per year), dental plan, disability benefits, health care plan, paramedical services coverage, vision care benefits, and a pension plan.
