About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Science Liaison to join our team at Lilly. As a Medical Science Liaison, you will serve as a scientific resource for Canadian experts in the field of Hematology and related disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to requests for in-depth, cutting-edge scientific information from the medical community in the hematology field, including the latest scientific literature, research from major scientific conferences, updates on Lilly's educational activities, and pipeline research activities.
  • Gather feedback and insight from scientific experts and thought leaders to inform Lilly's research and strategic direction.
  • Facilitate scientific exchange between the academic community and Lilly, shaping the future of healthcare with information that addresses important clinical and scientific questions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines, rules, and regulations for conducting research, as well as Lilly's code of conduct and policies.
Objectives
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial, peer-to-peer relationships with the scientific community.
  • Effectively communicate with scientific experts and thought leaders, providing up-to-date scientific knowledge and services that meet their needs.
  • Continually enhance scientific knowledge within the therapeutic area, engaging in scientific discussions and staying current with the latest research and developments.
  • Support the affiliate medical business objectives and cross-functional partners, interfacing with Lilly resources and internal business partners as needed.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in health sciences (PhD, MD, Pharm D) with 2-3 years of relevant clinical or therapeutic experience in Oncology/Hematology.
  • OR MSc in health care/professional designation (BScN, PT, RD etc.) considered if 5 or more years of relevant clinical experience in Oncology/Hematology.
  • OR previous MSL experience and sound knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry.
Preferred Skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and intelligence about the field of Oncology/Hematology.
  • Ability to critically appraise scientific information/literature.
  • Strong presentation skills, including the ability to comprehend large amounts of scientific content and communicate it clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong/collaborative peer-to-peer relationships with external customers.
  • Familiarity with the academic community and medical research.
  • Significant direct experience in servicing customer needs for complex information.
  • Experience in professional networking with positive mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with internal colleagues and cross-functional team members.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to work within teams to prioritize key projects and medical tactics.
